Origin- Rwanda Macuba

£11.50

This coffee features everything we love about Rwandan coffee; the mouthfeel is well-structured and the bright acidity compliments this, presenting layer upon layer of citric and berries notes.

Macuba Washing Station lies in the high-altitude hills of the Nyamasheke District. The Nyamasheke district is located in the southwest of Rwanda on the shores of Lake Kivu. The warm micro-climate allows cherries to mature slowly and amass more sugars.

Cherries are meticulously handpicked by farmers and delivered to Macuba Washing Station. At intake, the station team float the coffee to remove any low- density cherries. The high-density cherries are hand-sorted to remove any visible defects.

Afterwards, they’re placed in fermentation tanks to dry ferment for 20-24 hours. The coffee is rotated regularly to ensure drying evenly. On average, this takes 22 days from start to finish.
